GreenFood50, based in Wageningen (The Netherlands), is the specialist in innovative quinoa ingredients.

This innovative team has developed a wide range of sustainably produced quinoa ingredients, such as protein-rich quinoa flour, quinoa starch, crisps, flakes and pops, applicable in today's food products.

The entire range is made from sweet quinoa (without saponins and therefore not bitter), grown locally in the Netherlands, 100% pesticide-free.

Since 2014, these ingredients have been used by the Dutch Olympic training centre, among others!

GreenFood50 mission is to produce healthy and sustainable quinoa ingredients as part of a larger goal : feeding a growing world population.

Several prizes have since been awarded for this work:

Open Innovation Award from the Institute for Manufacturing, University of Cambridge at Food Matters Live (London, 2015).
Start-up Innovation Challenge winner at Health Ingredients Europe (Frankfurt, 2016).
Rabobank Wageningen Start-up Award (Wageningen, 2017).
Finalist Bridge2Food Summits (the Netherlands, 2017 & France, 2018).

It is also thanks to a network of partners who are experts in the food industry and focused on innovation that the adventure continues to grow: Foodvalley NL, The Protein Cluster, Startlife.

Recently, GreenFood50 participated in the EU-funded Quinnova project, which aimed to unlock the potential of EU-grown quinoa through the production of protein-rich quinoa flour and quinoa starch. The use of innovative technology makes it possible to utilise the quinoa protein, which has great nutritional benefits. More information on the Quinnova project here.
As of January 1, 2020, GreenFood50 has acquired the operations of the Dutch Quinoa Group from The Quinoa Company. This transfer includes the cultivation of quinoa varieties developed by Wageningen University in the Netherlands and the production and sales activities of the former Dutch Quinoa Group.
Thanks to this acquisition, GreenFood50 ensures even more proximity with the producers, with 100% controlled traceability and quality.
