SALTWELL® salt is extracted from a natural hypersaline basin located beneath the Atacama Desert in northern Chile. This exceptional underground spring produces salt without additives or chemical treatments.
Its extraction process is based on artisanal methods, inspired by traditional sea salt production techniques, with respect for resources and the environment. This low-impact process guarantees a sustainable, controlled approach.
Its extraction is based on a natural solar evaporation process, in open basins exposed to the arid, sunny climate of the Atacama Desert. Under the effect of this slow, continuous evaporation, a natural reaction takes place: sodium and potassium, both present in this specific salt water, bond and crystallize into a homogeneous mineral structure.
The result? This phenomenon gives rise to a unique, stable grain with 35% less sodium, no human processing, and retaining the taste and technological properties of traditional salt.
With sensory and functional properties similar to those of conventional salt, SALTWELL® is easy to integrate into your formulations. It can replace salt (NaCl) with a 1:1 ratio, without any major adjustments to your recipes.
